My name is Shaun Yajima. I am a bi-nationally supervised PhD student in Economic History based in the University of Tokyo (Japan) and the TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany). For archival research, I am currently living in Bochum, Germany.

My primary research field is Economic History, with a focus on business and political economy in the long twentieth century. My PhD dissertation examines the dynamics between the cartelized coal industry and the public sphere under recurrent energy crises in Germany between 1890 and 1914, bringing together business, energy, and communication history perspectives.
